Why is Stieg Larsson's Salander & Blomkvist series called "The Millenium Trilogy"?

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest are collectively called the Millenium Trilogy. Why "Millenium"? I've read all three (and heartily recommend them), and have found nothing to suggest why they would be called that.|||Blomkvist is a journalist. Along with Erika Berger he started Millenium magazine. The magazine prides itself on highest quality journalism, outing injustices and wrong doing (can't say too much here or might give away some of the story!).

To cut a long story short, the magazine is critical to the plot; it is the reason why Blomkvist takes on certain jobs; its staff are important to the investigation; it is how certain 'wrongs' are 'righted'. Hence series of books is referred to as the Millenium Trilogy, after the name of the magazine.|||not sure, but could you please answer my question about the series!!
