What's a book or books as good as the three in the Stieg Larsson series?

I want something equally good when I finish the last of Stieg's three excellent books.





Please explain why you like your recommendations.|||Well if you are into Swedish writers - I recommend Let the right one in by John Ajvide Lindqvist this vampire novel enriches the vampire genre in a way that the Twilight series does not. If you want a good detective series check out Wallander by Henning Mankell, this is intelligent and does not have the body count that many American writers tend to favor.
